November 18, 2:00 to 4:00: Annual 18th Century Thanksgiving Dinner Demonstration and Table Manners/Customs" at the Miller-Cory House Museum in Westfield. Adults and children 13 and older $3.00; children ages 3-12 $2.00; under 3 free. Wednesday, 11/24 – Let’s Talk Turkey! 4 to 5:30 pm Cost: $15/child (members) for a class and $20 per child (non-members) or you can sign up for the entire 6-week Environmental Explorers series. Don't miss Turkey Time at the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland. From10:30 am to 12 pm on Nov. 13, families with children ages 4 to 8 will see turkey feathers and try to make turkey sounds with a “turkey caller.” After a short walk to find what turkeys like to eat, children will create a turkey decoration for their Thanksgiving table. November 21: Thanksgiving Dinner and Table Customs and Manners 2:00 to 4:00 Includes demonstration of the preparation of a colonial Thanksgiving dinner over the open hearth (a few food samples will be offered to visitors; please note - an actual dinner is not served) as well as a program about colonial table manners, settings, and other customs. Turn your Thanksgiving leftovers into works of art the Garden State Discovery Museum in Cherry Hill. Paint with cranberries and make bread birdfeeders, and feel free to bring your recyclables to continue the “green art” trend. This event is scheduled for noon to 3 pm on Nov. 26.

Through hands-on activities explore the building blocks of design, find out how things are made and invent something new! Enjoy Family Fun Tours of all the Museum's collections and more. This event is free with suggested museum admission.
Don't miss the Autumn Hike and Wreath Making Workshop from 1 pm to 4 pm on Nov. 20 at the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Reserve in Pennginton. Join guest naturalist Tara Miller for a brisk hike on the Reserve to collect greenery, vines and dried flower heads. Then head back to the nature center for creative time – make wreaths and/or ornaments.
This event, which costs $25 per person, is recommended for adults and children 12 and older. Get some fresh air at the Fall Field Day at the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Reserve in Pennginton from 9 am to 3 pm on Nov. 13. Help put the reserve’s trails in order for the winter. Plan to wear sturdy clothes and boots; dress in layers; and bring a bag lunch and water bottle. Tools and work gloves, as well as water and snacks, will be provided.
