Science Discoveries (Florham Park) - exhibit at Imagine That! featuring dinosaurs The Dinosaur Den (Morristown) - part of the permanent collection at the Morris Museum Rutgers Geology Museum (New Brunswick) - exhibits include a dinosaur trackway & there are family programs offered (generally the hands-on activities in the museum and the "Late Nights" are for ages 5 to middle school (range from coloring stations to more advanced activities) and the field trips are best for ages 8 & older) Stirling Hill Mining Museum (Ogdensburg) - Search around in the Zobel Exhibit Hall and you will find dinosaur eggs, dinosaur bones, petrified wood, a full-size replica Tyrannosaurus Rex skull, and a large slab of siltstone showing embedded dinosaur footprints. Dinosaur Cave (Paramus) - one of many exhibits at the New Jersey Children's Museum Field Station Dinosaurs (Secaucus) -is now open to the public! Dinosaurs: Lift-The -Flap (Usborne Lift-the-Flap) (aDinosaurs: Lift-The -Flap (Usborne Lift-the-Flap) - This book is a nice introduction for toddlers through early elementary students. The descriptions and scientific names are geared more for older children but younger ones will still enjoy learning about dinosaurs and the flaps and colorful illustrations will appeal to all ages. (ages 4-8)
Dinosaurs Galore! - this is a very cute book for infants and preschoolers about various dinosaurs; each dinosaur has his own page with a beautiful illustration, a brief rhyming description and a pronunciation guide
Harold and the Purple Crayon: Dinosaur Days - Harold's adventures take him on a search for a "big, long-necked dinosaur" but he meets some others along the way. This is a nice introduction to a few of the more common dinosaurs with some beautiful illustrations (pre-K to Gr1)
Who Am I? Dinosaurs - a cute board book for infants & toddlers who pull the pages to see the dinosaurs
Dinosaurs Dance - nice book for infants and older about how dinosaurs can move
Inside-Outside Dinosaurs - in Roxie Munro's book, children can see the skeletons of several featured dinosaurs as well as illustrations of what they might have looked like; the back of the book includes a guide to the names and pronunciations of all the dinosaurs in each picture and detailed information on each featured dinosaur. Even very young dinosaur lovers will enjoy the pictures while older children can learn how to say their names. The author also includes book and online resources (ages 4 to 8)
All Aboard the Dinotrain - a rhyming book with dinosaurs and trains; who could ask for more? (ages 4-8)
Saturday Night at the Dinosaur Stomp - a rhyming book with colorful illustrations & lots of different dinosaurs from Plesiosaurus to Diplodocus (ages 4-8)
The Usborne Book of Dinosaurs - The narrative and facts about each dinosaur make this book more suitable for school-age children; middle school students would probably learn something about dinosaurs without too much content being over their heads (ages 9-12)

How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight? - one of a series of books by Jane Yolen; great for infants up to elementary school; the actual names of the dinosaurs pictured are written on the page somewhere (great for older kids to learn the different dinosaur names)
When Dinosaurs Came with Everything - a cute and clever story by Elise Broach about a little boy who gets dinosaurs instead of lollipops or stickers when he runs errands with mom. But mom has an interesting way of dealing with the dinosaur dilemma. (ages 4 to 6)
Dinosaurs Love Underpants - the comical tale of what really happened to the dinosaurs by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort; it should have your preschooler or early elementary dino lover chuckling
The Tyrannosaurus Game - a cute book with 12 kids each adding to the narrative of a dinosaur who visits
The Littlest Dinosaur - a nice story for preschoolers and older showing that being small doesn't mean you can't make a difference
