National Fire Protection Association - lots of fact sheets & information Protecting Children Some organizations offer a child ID and/or safety kit for free or a nominal fee. New Jersey Department of Children and Families - offers a variety of services for children and families including Adolescent Services, Centralized Child Abuse/Neglect Hotline, Child Welfare Training Academy, Child Protection and Permanency (formerly Youth and Family Services) Association for Children of NJ - ACNJ has advocated for policies and programs that improve the lives of children and families in New Jersey. Safe Kids Southern NJ - a chapter of Safe Kids Worldwide, dedicated to the prevention of unintentional childhood injury – the #1 killer of children ages 14 and under in the United States. NJ Sex Offender Registry- offers a search for registered sex offenders although it is not a complete database Children's Safety Network - a national resource center for the prevention of childhood injuries and violence Child Help - a non-profit organization whose mission is to meet the physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs of abused, neglected and at-risk children National Center for Missing & Exploited Children - resources and tips for protecting children Polly Klass Foundation - offers tips for parents and you can order a free child safety kit which includes an email reminder feature to remind you to update your child's photo. You can volunteer to distribute missing children posters. |
