Halloween Spooktacular (Paramus) - at the NJ Children's museum; pumpkin decorating, candy and toy trick or treating, Halloween stories and more; Oct. 13-30; see website for hours; & Too Cute to Spook even on Oct. 26
Camden County
Goblins in the Garden (Camden) - At the Camden Children’s Garden by using the Garden to do your trick or treating, come in costume, take a Haunted Train Ride; dodge costumed characters in the Haunted Maze, Trick or Treat during the Costume Parade, celebrate the Mexican tradition of “Día de los Muertos,” and more; Children must be accompanied by an adult; takes place 1 pm to 4 pm on Oct 27 & 28
Monster Mash Bash (Cherry Hill) - on Oct 26 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM; kiddie games, trick-or-treating, haunted exhibits & more; also Trunk or Treat from 6 pm to 8 pm on Oct. 27 - come in costume and enjoy a free family fun filled evening trick or treating in the front parking lot (doesn't include museum admission) Halloween Parade (Lindenwold) - annual Halloween parade from 12 to 3 pm on Oct. 27 at the Lindenwold Memorial Park Cape May County

-- Free Trick-or-Treating at the Physick Estate on Oct. 31 -- Tales of Terror Trolley Ride -30-min tours run from 7 to 9 pm October 5-7, 19-21, and October 31, buy tickets online or call (800)-275-4278; $10 adults, $7 children (ages 3-12). -- Ghosts of the Lighthouse Trolley Tour - tours start at 8 pm on Oct. 12, 13, 20 & 27;You’ll hear and experience Craig McManus’ paranormal findings during your journey. Once you reach your destination, you’ll feel the presence of the spirits at the Light; $20 adults, $15 children (3-12) -- Spellbound at the Physick Estate - What is really going on in this house? Has this family been practicing black magic? Find out for yourself as you visit with them and see the 1879 Physick Estate mansion decked out for Halloween. Or maybe it always looks like this…; tour starts at 7 pm on Oct 31; also other dates and times; Admission $18 -- Phantoms of the Physick Estate (Cape May) - Saturdays, Oct. 13, 20 & 27: 1pm-4pm & 7pm-10pm; visit Cape May’s original haunted house for either a family-friendly day-time tour or a tour of terror in the evening with members from the Actors Offstage. The kid-friendly tour is a special self-guided tour featuring spooky sounds, special effects and scary stuff. The kid-friendly tour is $10 for adults and $5 for children (ages 3-12). The tour of terror in the evening is a self-guided tour with special effects, ghosts and ghouls, scary characters and more. The evening tour is $15 for adults and $12 for children (ages 3-12). Gardens Aglow (Upper Montclair) - Oct 26 from 6 pm to 9 pm at Presby Memorial Iris Gardens; Bring your carved pumpkin to the garden & they'll be lit at sunset; music & refreshments provided; free
Howl-o-ween (West Orange) - at Turtle Back Zoo; Spooky Zoo from 6 to 9 pm on Oct. 27, Grab a free pumpkin and get creative at the pupkin’ decoratin’ station; master magician Joe Fisher will conjure ghosts and goblins. This may be scary, but not too scary. $5 for general public, $3 for members; Howl-o-ween on Oct. 31, the zoo will be open from 4-9pm for safe trick or treating; kids can come in costume & ride the "spooky train" (weather permitting) or enjoy the magical talents of master magician Joe Fisher. Event admission is $5 for all ages (as always under 2 is free). Discounted admission rate of $3 per person with valid Zoological Society membership! Event will be held rain or shine. Hunterdon County

State Scare Factory (Belleville) - tickets can be purchased at the door Haunted Village (Clinton) - 22nd Annual Haunted Mill will be taking place at the Historic Red Mill Museum Village in Clinton; this year's theme is Murder at Milligin's Mansion; tour the mansion, go on a haunted hayride and brave the walking terror trail; parents should use their judgment with younger children Field of Terror (East Windsor) - self-described largest haunted Corn Maze Hayride in NJ; annual Haunted Hayride, Field of Terror Cornmaze, and 2 walk-through attractions, The Unknown and Dementia (also have a family-friendly flashlight maze); coupons available online Fright Fest at Schaefer Farms (Flemington) - 45 minutes navigating 4 scary attractions: Hair-Raising Hayride, Trail of Terror, MassAcre Maize and Carnival of Chaos; not recommended for children under 10 Nightmares Haunted Attraction (Montvale) - they have ticket prices for kids under 10 but use your judgment Fall & Haunted Hayrides (Montville) - has haunted & regular hayrides Saturdays & Sundays 11-5. Ghost Walks & Haunted House Tours
Candlelight Tour of Historic Chestnut Hill Cemetery (East Brunswick) - 5pm - 8:30 pm on Oct. 13 & 14; Costumed re-enactors in historic dress; featuring former Historic Village of Old Bridge (East Brunswick) with displays and narratives about their "life"; Over 500 Luminaries outline the walking path; $8 per adult and $2 per child under 12 (pay at the gate) Jersey Shore Ghost Tours (Keyport) - Saturday evenings, August through Halloween. Tours run rain or shine. Tours begin at 8:30 pm. and last approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Meet at the Mini Park across from Espresso Joe's Coffee Shop on West Front Street. Adult bodies just $12 and Bodies 10 and under just $10. Ghost Tours of the Proprietary House (Perth Amboy) - Ghost tours of Proprietary House, featuring psychic Jane Doherty on Oct 19, 20, 26 and 27; admission $10 Jersey Shore Ghost Tours (Red Bank) - Meet in front of the Dublin House at 30 Monmouth Street for walking lantern tours of Red Bank every Friday night in August through Halloween. Tickets will be available starting at 8:00 pm and tours will start at 8:30 pm, so there is time to enjoy a cold drink after you pick up your tickets. Tours will run approximately one hour and run rain or shine. Ghost Walk Through History (Woodbridge) - Oct 15 (rain date is October 16). Tours run between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm (6 tours every hour) and are conducted by costumed guides who will share stories of New Jersey's settlers and the town's infamous and famous ghostly residents. The 55-minute walks held in the early evening are appropriate for children although the tours starting after 8:50 pm are restricted to kids 16 and up. Admission is $5 per person although stroller children are free; all walkers will be treated to free cookies and hot chocolate. The event is first-come, first serve but groups of 10 or more should make a reservation by calling 732-738-6022. |
